New Candle!

Isnt it amazing? Well it will look better when lit, theres a blue center, and it will glow through the "Ice" outter layer. The fantastic and wonderful JFay has designed this for us for our soon to be released Silk and Steel. Aud and I are completey insanely excited and im just tickled we now have two candles in the series. LOL now i just have to get the Dragon series candles started and all will be well.

Will i be doing a candle for the Djinn? you bet your arse. Wishbound and Gifts will each have their own 3x8 if im not mistaken, but they will only be out when the print books come out. So youll have to wait. But damn im so excited. she really captured what we wanted YET AGAIN!

New reference books.

yeah so the best thing about my mom working at a highschool is that I get the refrence books the throw in the Discard pile at the end of the year. So what did i get this year? a damn fine haul:

• a history of suicide
• A visual encyclopedia of unconventional medicine
• a visual encyclopedia of insects
• a dictionary of geology
• the handbook of astronomical anomalies

what the hell my old highschool was doing with a history of suicide is completely beyond me, but its mine now and i KNOW it will come in handy with research. So its a highlighter and page sticky time.. yay... fun fun fun.

the old city that Edinburgh, Scotland is built on. Parts of it are open for tours, but i would LOVE to really explore whats hidden down there.

A man levitated there once in the 70's and there as been odd energy disturbances there for centuries.

Alestair Crowley, The great Beast of the occult, started a demon ritual there back in the day. He never finished it and to this day theres disturbances at the house, which is a bed and breakfast.

New Print Cover!

Isnt it beautiful! its the print cover for our first print book with Phaze, a collection of the first two Djinn (Duvall Inc) stories Wishes and Glamour. I have been told it will be print this fall and OMG in so excited!

The signing in scranton: the aftermath

We had a blast. Rene and I really need to be separated sometimes. But it was omg fun!

All the ladies that showed up, Kore, Amy(s), I moan, Woo Woo, Renee, Laura, Book whore and everyone else i met. I loved meeting everyone. We sold books, met some fun people and hand a just damn good time.

Im nervous though, Kore is reading Sugar and im SOO nervous shes going to hate it. I'm just hoping everyone that bought the book is going to enjoy it and that we don't disappoint.

AND... the borders wants us to come back too! It was just SO much fun to hangout with B and Jacki and Rene... i cant wait to do it again.

Signing Tomorrow!

Im lucky enough to have some awesome friends, and those friends and I are having a signing at Borders in Scranton PA tomorrow from 2-6. Yep. we have tons of books to sign and goodies to give away! So If your close enough to the area, come and hang out with us at the Borders at the Viewmont Mall... I know you'll have a swinging time!

Gifts is in!

Yep. Gifts is finished... and OMG we are SOOOO happy with it! its at 90,270 word and im just so happy its finally done. its a gateway book for the continuation of the series, and the teaser to the Keepers of Twilight Series, which will be out with Siren starting this October. So shall i give you a blurb for Gifts?

Long live the ugly worm!

Yep... Suzette, because she loves me above all else, got me an Ugly worm for my birthday! I new have 5 ugly dolls... and must collect them all! And i think i set off a chain reaction, because poor suzettes kids and Rene's little girl want them now... Sorry parents... but they are a rocking toy. So much better then the teddy bear! its this age's teddy bear! and i have 5 MUAHAHAHAHAH...

The signing went well, a few of us sold books, but it turned into a real networking thing, and Im thinking of setting another one of those up in the future so the lot of us can setup an event of immense proportions! Its good to know who is close to you and in the same industry, I LOVE setting up stuff where people can come and meet the authors, and to hangout with others you know?

So now i have the idea in my head to get a group together for signings and shit, and damn it, as if i have ANY time to do ANYTHING else with my life... LOL. but its good. Networking is good...

So today is hangout with Val day. We are going to the Winery, and to the craft town Sugar Loaf to probably get some soaps from the infamous ROSENERS... heh it is going to prove to be a sound and fun day.

I get to come home and do LOTS of work. LOL. Its never done.

So with the signing on friday, Im a promotiona mess over here. it looks like the arts and crafts section of summer camp threw up and them had glitter sprinkled on it. Yep, im that much of a freak when it comes to having unique promo. So for the next 12 hours Ill be sitting here watching ROME and other awesome series (like FARSCAPE) and getting my crafty on. Its times like this i wish Aud lived closer.

Im also on a full blown James Purefoy kick. ROME is the greatest show ever, lots of full frontal nudity.... I can dig it... and it passes the time. James Purefoy is so hot. Must keep watching him.

OOH and Rene and I started a new Bloggy. its called Delicious Darkness, and its going to be our new place to play. Come visit us and see what its all about. I think the graphics for it came out particularly good. LOL.

28th birthday: the aftermath

Ok so i have offically been 28 for a little over a day. Yep. 28 isnt so bad really... well lets recap the day:

• Joe got me some fantastic Cala lillies for my birthday
• I set a handtowel on fire
• borders had tarot cards on sale, i got two decks with hardcover books for under 10$
• my grandparents bought me a cheesecake i wont eat.
• got to see Pirates: at world end last night... OMG fantastic.
• got to see the full trailer for transformers. OMG awesome
• I got to sleep somewhat late.

Yep it was all in all a good day. and I love my flowers. Audra and I also wrote about 2k yesterday on a short story. I was rather excited. Im hoping we will be as prolific in the next month as e have been recently.

So the signing is a week and two weeks away from today. Tonite I'm going to NYC to see Bright Eyes with Joe and then I'm going back to NYC on Sunday for The Faint. ooh its a good birthday weekend. now to get some work done before i leave.

Audra is a tease

Yep. last night she teased me with ROME the second season. why is it a tease? because James Purefoy is NEKKID in it all the time. lots of naughty sex scenes, totally hot... and i dont have it. So now im on a quest to get it.

the week has just started...

and several things have occurred. One, i got a phone call from Rene Lyons... She always makes my Mondays fun. Bitching and moaning has never been so satisfying as to when we are on the phone. Two, I received a phone call from some guy who though I was a woman named Lisa, then hit on me, tried to tell me about some erotic dream, and that he was hepped up on NyQuil. Third, I need to find a job. Big old poo on the Job. Its not like i don't work my ass off daily with the web stuff, covers and actual writing i do. A job is seriously going to intrude on my writing time with Audra, so im a bit apprehensive.

Thursday is my birthday. That means two things. One, Ill be hiding from Family members that will be calling starting at 7am to with me well (Anyone calling me that early should have a pox on their house for even THINKING my ass would be up.) and Two, I get to see PIRATES 3 at midnight. Woo. that is worth it i think, not to mention i have two shows in NYC (Bright EYES and The Faint) that weekend. So i suppose i have something to look forward to.

Work is going well too. Gifts is almost finished, and then we only have ONE more book to finish for the year before we can get a hop on 2008 work. Im confident that well finish that one in enough time that we wont have to worry overly much about anything.

We are BACK!

Ok so we have been for a while but i have been recouping and hanging out with my sister. Shes home now, and that rocks, but im sad that i wont get to see her till next year.

RT was awesome! We got some amazing pictures, and went wild and actually sold books at the book fair! So thanks to everyone who bought it, you totally made the trip to RT worth it! We also give out a LOT of goodies and promo, and I'm happy to say it wasn't a wasted trip.

Next year is going to be truly insane as ill be there as a publisher, review house, cover artist and author, and im excited to say we will have 8 books in print bu then, a whole lot of goodies and promo stuff for all that pulp!

And I'm SO excited cuz ill be rooming with my sister and Rene and another crazy lunatic... fun times! So lets see, RT 2007 highlights?

Well I'm off as of Wednesday morning to Texas with Audra and joe and neil... and im so excited! I pick Aud up tomorrow at the airport... woo hoo. then the hair, while the boys go shopping and Neil gets his first taste of US commerce. Tomorrow i will be lucky if i can check email. its all go no quit from 8am till we leave at 330 the following morning. Im hoping to sleep on the plane, but im almost positive thats not going to happen.

Days Away...

And Im not ready. Today is going to be cleaning, picture hanging, finishing packing, and doing all the necessary hooey to finish up everything. I swear i always bite off more then i can chew.
With everything going as is, Im very excited, and I get to see Aud very soon!

Silk and Steel is now out for review to a few places that i KNOW will get me the book quickly, and that makes me happy. Im hoping that Ill get some reviews while at RT so that Ill feel a bit better about releases on the 12th. I still feel like i havent done any promo for it.

Deep Water will hopefully be finished before we leave. we are only about 4k off from target so its not so bad, but Im now stressing about it. And I really dont feel like i have gotten enough promo stuff for RT. I know Im going to forget something vital.

But on the upswing, Stargate is on tonite and I'm excited... Its my calm zone and couldnt have come back on at a better time. Im seriously thinking of skipping out of shit on friday coming at RT to hangout upstairs and watch it even though Ill be taping it with the DVDR. I know, Im a nerd.

So tomorrow is last minute shopping, making hair appointments for Aud and I, getting the loose ends tied up and generally just freaking out. Nervous? fuck yeah.

ONE WEEK!

My sister is here in one week! Oh! Can you stand it!? Im so excited, and I still have a TON f shit to dobefore her and her hunny show up on the noon bound plane from Scotland. Then the real fun (and stress) begins.
We are almost finished with Deep Water, about 6k more and we should be done. Thats my task for today, bulk what we wrote last night, and get another part started. Im hoping that we will finish by friday. Well thats the plan anyway. I hate working under pressure, but Aud seems to thrive in it so... we compromise. Im just hoping we finish this one quickly, so in May we can finish Gifts to give to Kat for September release. thats looking at about another 45-50k added... so Im praying we do it in the month of may.

We got Paired!

So I was looking at the Sugar and Sin page at Amazon last night and noticed something spectacular... We got paired!!! in less then three weeks we have sold enough on Amazon to get paired up with another book (which right now is one of Lauren Dane's books) and we really wanna say thank you! I know a lot of authors that have been out for ages on Amazon and haven't been paired yet so this is a big deal for us.

See this book is our baby... hell the series in general is our baby, and seeing it appreciated and recognized is really amazing especially when we were told it wouldn't sell. So thank you to those who have bought it and Thank you to those who are going to buy it. We cant do this alone and its you reading and buying that really makes it grand.

I have recently gotten a few IM's and emails about how much people loved the book, and i gotta say, its a major great feeling. Don't get me wrong, hearing my friends say they like it is awesome, but hearing from someone who has no clue what kinda person I am, telling me they tried the book on a whim from a recommendation from someone else, and loved it, are ravenous for more... I'm speechless.

Now its really all about promo and getting the name out there for us, and RT is going to be just the place to do it. With this new information, I'm more excited about RT, as i feel that all our efforts so far have been paying off. Its encouraging, and pushes me to do more to get more sales and work out... and its all thanks to you, the reader. so thank you.

On another up note, the Dragon Elemental series is doing great as well. We have hit #20 on the FW top erotica list and are sitting pretty at #1 on the FW MGP list. Im taking this as a major score for us, and i hope it will help push us to where we need to ultimately be for our great sales to continue, print. both series are doing good, and Sugar is doing fantastic so far in print... Im so hopeful its scary.

The countdown begins...

Audra will be here in two week come Tuesday. TWO WEEKS! i haven't seen my sister since last July so im SO excited! and i get to see my future brother-in-law as well, and to top it all off, we have RT as well. April rocks.
So Easter was normal, hell i did covers all day. Im packed, and theres few things to do before she flys in so things are going well, though i do need a haircut.
And did I mention that its damn cold in NY? not happy about that, I'm really looking forward to the warmer weather.. so Houston will be a welcome change.

apparently the eternal debate.

Well it seems some authors are getting chastised for their heroes screwing other chicks during the course of the book. All i can say to that is been there, done that. The Eververse series was rejected for that very reason from pretty much ALL the big e pubs (and TOR) and yet, the damn book has sold over 100 copies in print in the past three weeks from Amazon, and its gotten some amazing reader reviews as well.
I think thats pretty damn good for a book one e pub said "had a hastily thrown together world, Characters that had no depth and a hero who's sexual exploits will turn the reader off. Good luck ever getting it published."
Polyamourous pursuits are fine with me. And to our own credit, Fallon's sexual adventures prove to identify him as a person, and his personality, and helps him make a decision later on in the book for the benefit of all parties. Hes not just screwing for screwing's sake really, theres a bigger scope to the story.
Im not trying to justify what he does, he does that very well on his own, only explain to those out there still locked in the "one guy, one girl romance" that things are changing. the amount of people in RL that have only been with one person is in the minority, and aud and I like to think we write true to life. lets not forget, Fallon, along with Feyd, Arcady, Cash and the rest of the guys (and girls for that matter) are residents of a sub-society, a culture that runs on sex, blood and money more so then regular human existence.
One guy, One girl is outdated and more in the realm of fantasy then you know. (right, like that millionare art gallery owner with the cocky attitude didnt have an orgy a la American Psycho style the night before he met his heroine? Show me that, it helps to give me a feel for the REAL character, because no one is as good and pious as they make them in literature.)
And another thing, If you can handle it in your TV and your movies, why not your books as well? I mean I know the general pulp reading public can handle it (hello... Anita Blake anyone?) but why are they getting so starchy about e book? Aren't we supposed to be paving the way for the new literature? Why is it people can handle threesomes, orgies and 5 ways, but hen the Hero gets down before getting down with the heroine people's panties get in a twist? I mean come on, when that happens in a book i take it that the hero is a very sexual person, and that when he gets his heroine (insert you favorite genre here) hes either gotta quell that need and fire to get past her virginal defenses, or square with the fact that the chick was probably just as big a ho as he was before they got together... honestly no man that LOOKS like these heroes would be saving it for their true love... (unless they are batting for the other team, but im not getting into that.) So come on people.. be realistic.

maintaining my BUSY

screw my sexy. its the end of march and RT is just around the corner. I have two novels i want us to finish so they can be released with phaze this winter. I have edits up the ying yang, and ooh yeah, i gotta start ordering promo stuff again next week.
The webshop website went from idea to reality as we have pictures coming in every day of merchandise that we will be selling. Im hoping to get that online by July instead of August. we will have to see though.
With Sugar in print im setting up signings left and right. i have the event in june at the Tuscan and a few cons for the summer. Could i be more busy? probably. But its what keeps me sane.

Still I got conformation last night of Audra's flight for RT so now I'm hella excited. i get to see my sister in a little over a month and my soon to be new brother in law. Needless to say that in itself means i have to clean and redecorate.

We finished Of Crimson and Collars last night and i sent it off to Submissions at Phaze this morning. it ended up being 26,500 words, and im pretty happy with how it turned out.

to your left is the cover i had did for the book, and if Phaze contracts it, then im going to ask to use the cover. I love it, and it really is a great representation of the story without giveing too much away.

So Audra and I are hard at work on our Frost submission for Phaze, the working title London for the Holidays And it features Malcolm Frost from the Djinn books and a Conglacio concubine (thats a ice demon to those who dont know) named Thisbe Winters... Yep.. its the only book Mal is going to have of his own so i think you guys will enjoy it..

New cover for Bargain by Starlight

So we now have BBS back in our possession, and it couldnt have come at a better time. With Silk and Steel coming in may we have decided to re release the book, along with its companion, Innocent Twilight as a free read e book with Silk and Steel. And i think when Silk and Steel goes print, both stories will be part of it., so thats a great deal as well.

Isnt it pretty? I think its exactly what the book needed. so be on the lookout for the books. Ill be posting Innocent Twilight's cover i a day or so.

and i shall rule the world with a Gwin by my side...

apparently someone too me seriously with my Bribery post, yep you know who you are... lol, and here he sits, next to my lap top in all his octopus glory. hes been feeding me ideas of world domination, and been telling me how best to keep my treasure hoard safe... If i had a treasure hoard... though hes resigned himself to finding some for me....

so i dont have to do it myself. heh.

We finished our Phaze Fantasies submission and sent it to Phaze this morning. We are pretty pleased with it and its one less thing on our plate to do. I'm hoping this week to get another off to the pubby as well. i love when we are prolific... It always feels good to get back to work and get stuff done.

Reviews.. and why i love them.

See, i'm the kinda person that doesn't have issues with reviewers. Reviews are opinions made by people, and good or bad, they are going to make you learn from your craft. Personally, i don't mind bad reviews(and we have gotten them) but i love god ones.

And i LOVE seeing that Sugar and Sin is getting such great reviews. And the reason why i love it is because we had sent it to so many publishers that told us numerous things (the worst being that the characters were uninteresting, unoriginal and the story line sucked) and that they were going to pass on it. We haven't gotten under a 3 (and that was from a person that didn't understand then scope of the book really), but most of the reviews are a 4.5 and above. The book was featured in the Fictionwise newsletter and has a new merchandising plan with bath products, candles, clothing and jewelry.

The series is a major step for us, in the literary world as well as the marketing and merchandising world and i just feel like its been good for us. I mean yes, we got oodles of rejections for the series, but in the end, we got so much more. Sure its taking a LOT of self promotions on our part, but how many book series' have a candle line and a bath products line thats not NY? it makes me hopeful, that we have the drive and the appeal to get ourselves to NY some day.

Surrender in Moonlight is a Recommended Read!

Surrender in Moonlight lets us explore a harder edge to one of the residents of the Knossos West nest. Reece is the bad boy and likes his sex on the dirty side but doesn’t want a mate; Carmen is rouge by her choice that finds she can have freedom and still love nest life and a mate. Reece and Carmen discover together that you don’t have to be the Smith’s to have a wonderful love and fulfilling life by doing it their own way. I have to say first off that I was sucked in right from the beginning. Surrender in Moonlight is rougher in language and actions than the first story in this series but it matched the characters perfectly. I absolutely loved that Carmen and Reece surrendered to their love but did it their own way and those around them just had to deal. The scenes where Reece learns exactly the type of snake Carmen is and how they handled was an instant favorite.

Surrender in Moonlight is a must read pure and simple. The Price sister’s have developed not only a storyline surrounding a new Were species but also in that they are making their own rules. I am already waiting impatiently for the next book in this series. For me not only is this book a must read but it’s a Joyfully Recommended Read.

There are a lot of lewd overtones to keep the sexual tension
throughout the book.  The story is well-written and satisfactory in its
pacing.  All in all, it’s a different and interesting narrative.

No feedback makes homer something something....

I have noticed something i consider very odd. In all the books we have out we have yet to get any sort of feedback. I mean good, or bad, we havent recieved any from anyone that has read our work aside from the reviewers. Im starting to wonder if anyone actually HAS read our books. I mean we have two yahoo groups, and whilethey are quite populated, not one person talks. The sound of crickets is most defening and im starting to wonder why people join groups if they are just going to put it on no mail aand not talk at all. This is very bizzare to me. I mean i know people talk and speculate on literature, hell i do it myself. Is our work that boring that people are just writing it off? Is it that its not intresting enough that the stories we write arent worthy to ask questions of? Or am i just crazy?

I mean if people join your group, they must have read your work right? Im just baffled. Imean even if they didnt enjoy it, its worth talking about.

New year... and soon a new compy.

Well the back light on my lappy blew. Im supposing itsmy fault for always havning it on. So we ordered mea new onw from Tiger direct. It should be here in a fewdays. Whats good anout that is that Ill be able to change the layout on this here bloggy to match the new webby. All snakes and apples and original sin.... Yeah we figured we might as well embrace our Snake-i-ness...

We have our release dates for our books this year, and that means aud and i have a shit load of work to do, im just thanking the powers that be that most of them are atleast halfway finished. Just proves we have a lot to do and less time to do it in.

We have been getting some fantastic reviews though, Surrender, Sugar and Glamour are all doing rahter well... I just hope the people that have read it enjoy it.

So ms. Bianca D'Arc has tagged me for thid fun little 5 things about me... So here it goes:

1. I spent 5 years in the Music Industry as a tour manager. Make no mistake people, i wasnt a Groupie, i actually worked for a living, and one of my duties was actually GETTING groupies to the bands.. well atleast all mine with of legal age.

2. I went to college for Industrial Design, but had a double major in Special Effects and English, minor in Puppetry. I wanted to work for Henson's creature shop.

3. I have a insane memory for useless knowledge. I know just about all there is to know from Time life books, Starwars, LOTR and can quote obscure movie quotes.

4. Im from a very musical family. My grandpa is some big deal singer in the Latin community, the voice of big latin bands like the Joe Cuba Band, the Tito Puente Band (50-56) and others. Hes been showcased in about 4 books and was recently honored at MSG.

5. I won tix to woodstock 94 on a radio station here in NY. I was 16...

OK so im pretty boring... but Im sure Skylar Sinclair and Jacquelyn Frank will be more intresting....

Progress

Even with Audra's computers going to shit we have managed to still put another 4k on Gifts. Im attribiuting it to Marsh and Janeys Stubbornness, When they start a book, they need to finish it. Its one of their finer quailties. So thats a good thing.

We also subbed out a partial recently, im sitting here fingers crossed that we get it, as well as another sub we have out. Always subbing is us.

On the homefront, my hunny just bought a new car. Its the Honda Fit and he got it in white. Im sooo Excited cuz it means i can drive a new car. tee hee... heh and apparently a lamacan fit in the thing. messed up right?

So happy christmas to him. lol.

We have one more day of holiday shopping coming. and then we are DONE! And Audra and I are hoping to get some morework done this week. Oh and i became partners with a good friend in a business venture. More on that as it develops.

Blood on the Harvest is ingeniously written and hooks the reader from the first page. The character of Danica, not to mention the mystery behind the oak tree, intrigued me. Ethan’s alluring persona comes off with such magnitude; it glues the reader to the story. Stella and Audra Price kept this reader guessing until the end with the outcome of Danica and her man of mystery. I enjoyed the atmosphere that the story offered and felt almost bewitched by the setting in this tantalizing read.

There is an awful lot going on in this book and it took me a little while to sort it all out. I really began to enjoy the story after that. Astrid is a great character, but a little too tolerant of Fallon’s extracurricular activities for my taste. Ashlynn is likable, if a little simple. Watching Feyd fall for her was fun. The other demons and supernatural creatures, like Morrison and Alcyone, were also well developed. The story does not end here and I will definitely be reading the next one.

WRONG. its a beautiful story, and with Michael Sarah can just be a person, not a name or a gimick. Shes normal and they do normal things. But what gets me is the letters the "Fax Fairy" sends her. Michael faxes her love letters after certain encounters. they are beautiful and soulful and i swaer to you if a man ever wrote like that to me i would be his. and the end? OMG i cried... and i still cry every time i see it.
Ooh, and the sex scenes in it are pretty hot too.... You NEED to buy this movie. I SHIT YOU NOT!

Stella and Audra continue to push the boundaries with each new book they write and this book is no exception. However, readers looking for an edgy but sexy book will enjoy Surrender In Moonlight. Kudos to Stella and Audra Price for their daring approach to the shape shifter genre!

OOh we are SOOOO excited! What a great way to start a otherwise dreary wensday.

So what have we been up to? We havent been blogging? Well We are slowly getting ready for the Sugar and Sin bash this saturday. we are both estatic, and cant wait for this. The excerpts we have been putting out have gotten some great responses too so im hopeing people will pick it up, its really some of our best work.

What else? I have been getting promo together for days now, as well as press releases and setting up the Rites of Romance Reviews site with Ash Arceneaux for the launch this friday. I know we are SOOO busy right?

Not to mention the writing. We have gotten another 2k on Lady luck, and did 5.5k in three hours last night on the second dragon book, Deep Water. Im so LOVING this book its insane.

So anyway, off to promo and write, this book is like the first Fallen book, its just flowing....

Whats been going on with us...

Well... in less then 2 weeks... Sugar and Sin will be out. Audra and i have a huge celebration planned for fans and people who are going to become fans. Prizes, excerpts and Lots of goodies are abound the full day and I cant wait for it. I mean its FINALLY coming out... its such a good feeling.

So If you wanna win, you gotta come and hangout with us. Well have excerpts from Sugar and Sin, as well as Silk and Steel, and be giving out some privlidged information. its going to be an Active day so if your interested be prepared!
