Another fantastic review! I cant believe it!

Entwined by Fate is coming out a month from tomorrow, and the reviews are winging in! I'm so damn excited about this, I mean We have been scared and worried for so long that this book wouldn't be liked, but as it is, there's a HUGE population of readers out there that want to read this book and are intrigued by the idea of weresnakes as a race in romance. I'm feeling so good about this, hopeful that this book will do what Audra and I hoped it would.

Anyway, we have a new review, and its a Recommended Read! *Happy dancing about the condo*

S.A. Price has written a winner! The taut plot line and the constant danger lurking at every corner increase the tension as the reader anxiously turns the pages. S.A. Price does a marvelous job at integrating subplots and smoothly fitting all of the pieces together. The secondary romances developing within the plot line make the happily-ever-after all the more satisfying. Brilliant!

You can read the full review HERE.

And the awesome Kimi Alexandre did a cool little podcast with me the other day and I explained a lot about the series for readers, to insure then that the book isn't gross, creepy or overly snakey. go and listen, comment and maybe win our Knossos West weresnakes trilogy in e book. Yes, tis the season for giving and We like to give.

to celebrate this release we are going to be doing some awesome full week festivities on some of our freinds blogs, as well as new friends blog and review blogs. Another amazing review for Entwined by Fate!

So we got another review for the new snake novel and this time from Smoking Hot Books Blog. Im happy to say I woke up to this awesome review, that has a CONVERSATION going on about it, and it tickles my insides.

See, I know that everyone isn't going to like this book, and I know that people have an unholy fear of snakes. I can fault them, I'm scared of the gingerbread man *shrug*. But the fact that so many reviewers agreed to review it and while they are trickling in, they all have one thing in common so far: THEY LOVE THE BOOK.

This is awesome to us, because we were told by several publishers that this book is not marketable. to that I say BULLPUCKY. I'm a firm believer that if the author works at it, pretty much anything can be sold, but I digress. This book is marketable, and will have readers. It does now, and they like it.

Anyway, Heres a little snippet of the review we got this morning:

I found myself captivated by their world and watching reruns of the MTV music awards when Brittany came out on stage with a boa constrictor. Lucky girl. I want my own snakie to rub my fantasy scales with! Move over werewolf’s there’s a new game in town.

Seriously? That's one hell of a review. Thank you tons K.C. for giving the book a chance and seeing that it is readable, and people would want to read it. You can read her entire review HERE and get in on the conversation as well. I would love for you to weigh in as well.

First Review In for Entwined by Fate!

"There are so many great characters to this story that I can’t really have just one favorite. Once I started reading this book I couldn’t put it down."

Words from Lyra Rose's Blog this morning on the forthcoming Entwined By Fate!

I'm extremely happy this book met with first review goodness!
With all the problems its had with rejections I was beginning to think that they were all right, and that the reading public wouldn't be really for this book, but I see I was right! I cant wait to get the other reviews that we sent out. If they are anything close to what this is, I'll feel a lot better about this book coming out.

Back to writing some of the Satyrs that are due... but this was a welcome distraction. You can read Lyra's full review here

First Look: Entwined by Fate

So heres the first chapter of Entwined by Fate, the new book we have dropping in January 2010. Hope you like! Ooh and Be on the look out for some awesome stuff coming up!

Merrick sat back in his soft leather chair and tried to let Aiden’s words filter through his brain.

“She’s gone, they all are. Karen, Sophia, Janice, Mary, Nita, Jess, Claire,” Merrick suppressed a groan as he listed five other names, all girls he was close to, had helped through their changes, helped survive. “And now Evelyn. Mer she’s nowhere.”

He’d helped them all survive for nothing, all his hard work and they were doomed. Without the younger generations of his race they were all going to die no matter what kind of snakes they shifted into; they were all going to be extinct. “Carmen, she wasn’t on your list, did you find her?” He asked gravely fearing the answer. The spunky, light fingered little girl had been like a daughter to him for almost a year. With the loss of so many pressing down on them he couldn’t afford to have her name added to the fray.

“I found her,” Aiden smiled his relieved face mirroring Merrick’s. “Apparently she’s in New York with the nest there. She got married, to Reece Evans, here in Vegas I’m told… and I believe they just had twins.”

“Little Reece?” He smirked knowing full well what type of untamable man Reece claimed to be and just how quickly his little viper would have whipped him into shape. “Guess the kid grew up then.”

“That kid’s older than me Mer. It isn’t just you that’s getting older.” Aiden shrugged nonchalantly stepping towards the huge window his eyes searching out. “At least it’s working out for some.”

“Just not enough.” Merrick sighed letting the seriousness of their situation sink back in.

Snake shifters were the rarest of all the shifting races. The cats thrived in the jungles and Asia, where as the wolves rampaged through Europe. The snakes, however, were dying. All of their ground has long since been reclaimed by humans. Humans who, by nature, feared them and hunt them. It was easy for a cat or a wolf to leap away or attack to defend themselves but most snakes were defenseless.

Those of their kind who’d carried the venom to defend themselves, like Carmen, were rare indeed and were feared by both sides of the coin. Now there was a new threat, something real stealing the females of his race, the unprotected ones. Most Ophidians lived in nests, their form of a pack or pride, and the nests were almost always run by the women. The women made the decisions in their society, the women passed on the bloodline. It was almost unheard of for a male to father an Ophidian child on his own with a human.

“Call everyone home, everyone that you can.” He opened his eyes, taking a deep breath before saying his next words. “We have to call a meeting, everyone must know.” He marveled at just how odd the words sounded. Meetings just weren’t called. The nest leaders didn’t just convene to discuss things. Most of the nests were at war over stupid insignificant territory disputes.

Aiden sputtered. “You’re kidding. We can’t call a meeting Mer we aren’t even a nest… not a proper one.”

It was true that the Vegas nest wasn’t a completely above board, sanctioned entity. Merrick had started it on his travels saving and picking up strays here and there. He gave them a home, and a relatively safe place to change and hunt. Staying wasn’t compulsory though and that’s why they had lost so many. His people had freedom to move wherever they wished. The official nests would call them all rogues. As nests go they probably had the most members and most of them owed their life to Merrick. Even Aiden. Merrick had rescued him and his sister Kira from a circus several years ago; they’d been his first and most loyal members.

“I’ve thought of that. We’ll declare ourselves. Most of them know we’ve started something in Vegas anyway.” He hoped they did anyway. He had let word leak out about their dealings in town, but nothing solid. It was all speculation, but it had kept them safe so far.

“They wont give us territory, especially not here. It’s prime land and it belongs to the King snakes…” He paused looking him over, “Plus Mer, you’re hardly the matriarch type.”

“I’ve thought of that as well. We don’t have to use me at the start. A woman claiming land would be seen as acceptable. We’ll use Kira as a front, she’s tough enough… with a little refining it will work.”

His friend let out a strangled moan somewhere between a yelp of surprise and groan of defeat. He’d been expecting this. “My sister can hardly…”

“Do you doubt me?” Merrick asked making his tone sharp. The other nests had cause to doubt him and his actions but if his own people doubted that he could lead them then it was already over.

For a moment he thought Aiden was going to argue but he shook his head. “No sir, I’m just worried about Kira Mer. Your making her call a meeting and declare land… it’s a bit much for her. Can’t you use…”

“Use who? They’re all gone…” Mer cut him off using simple facts. “Out of a possible fifty three we have twenty two that we can contact. They’re all gone, every one of them and I want to know where the hell they are. Think about it, if we’re losing people the other nests are bound to be too. We have to deal with this threat at all costs and if that means that you sister has to hold it together for five or so days then so be it. I’d love to use someone else, but there just isn’t anyone left that I trust.”

Aiden swallowed hard. “It’s gonna be a long con Mer. My sister ain’t the best puppet around but if anyone can pull it off its you.”

“Thanks for your vote of confidence. Now call the damn meeting.”

Merrick turned his back to Aiden hoping to God that the boy didn’t pick up on the fine tremble that had started to run through his body. The truth was Merrick was scared. Something or someone was taking his people and he couldn’t do a damn thing about it, not the way things were. They were all disjointed, no communication. He had the fleeting thought that they wouldn’t be in this predicament if they all just kept in touch. Things were about to get dangerous and not just from the unknown side of things. His presence was going to be a surprise to most of the nest leaders as the majority of them thought he was dead. A rumor he’d always done his best to cultivate. John Merrick wasn’t a name that most snake nests thought upon lightly and now here he was trying to solve a mystery and claim his own land. Even if it was through poor Kira. The shit was about to well and truly hit the fan, the trick now was to spread as much of it about as he could while hopefully, finding his missing girls and with any luck they’d even be alive. He smirked shaking his head, never let it be said that he didn’t have high expectations.

***

Elise Rizdon frowned down at the paper she held, completely confused. All the seals, stamps and watermarks were in place, yet the sender, Kira Whitbley, the woman claming to be the Archon of the Las Vegas nest, wasn’t known to her. In fact, the news that there was a Vegas nest completely escaped her attention till now. She leaned back and sighed, perplexed.

The King snakes held Vegas in their territory, as well as most of the western desert, California, Arizona, New Mexico and Texas. That Olivia Copeland, the Archon of the king snake crèche, would allow such a thing was unheard of. Territory was coveted, and to just allow another nest to appear in the area they called theirs… the King Snakes were not the most peace loving of the nests and if Olivia didn’t know that a nest had sprang up right under her nose things were going to get messy.

Still, the officious nature of the correspondence she was holding lead her to believe that Kira was indeed an Archon in practice if not officially, and there was cause for this meeting. The way it was addressed, to the Archon’s of the five nests, said that the issues that needed to be addressed concerned them all. She sighed and turned towards her desk, and hit the little panel to the right of her computer, the buttons to the intercom system of the Knossos West compound.

“Myra? Could you come to my suite please?” She said in her light voice, her southern accent peeking out.

Myra stuck her head through her door a few seconds later out of breath at having ran up the stairs. "Elise?"

She smiled at the young woman and motioned her in. "Come in Darlin... we seem to have a situation."

"We do?" she asked coming into the room, he soft honey colored hair bouncing as she moved. "What's happened?"

She placed the parchment on the desk just as Myra reached it. "We have to go to Ohio. A meeting has been called."

"A meeting?" She frowned looking at the papers. "Why?"

"It doesn’t say, but if someone calls a meeting they have a damn good reason, or should. I’m sure its not to play tidily winks."

"I'd bet not..." She said lifting the papers and studying them. "Wow. Another nest? In Vegas? That’s not going to go down well at all."

"No its not, Olivia is not going to be happy, nor is Ramona. She’s still stewing about the last meeting when we voted her daughter's motion to start her own crèche in Maine down."

"It's going to be interesting that’s for sure. Who are you taking with you? It might get dangerous..."

Elise smiled. Who indeed. Usually she would be taking Remy or Reece with her for such an occasion, but as they were both recently mated and each had a clutch, children, of their own, that was out of the question. Phillip and Andy were both mated and neither of them had the presence to warrant bodyguard status. That left Myra and Henry, and Henry was away at the house in the Hampton’s. "Well... You’re the logical choice... and the only choice, though to be fair, if I had to choose between you and Henry, it would always be you. He’s far too soft."

"Yeah that I get picked over him always a good tell on that. I don’t know how much use I'll be though and you'll have to battle it out with Reece and Remy. They wont like it at all."

"Well they are both fathers now, and frankly I don’t give a shit. My word is gospel in this house. I’m worried though, this new nest on the scene and now a meeting. If this is about land disputes..." she trailed off and sighed. Usually the meetings were about land disputes, and border boundaries. Elise, as Archon of the New York nest, held New Hampshire to Maryland and west to Ohio as her Territory. Ramona, leader of the Midwest nest held everything west of the Mississippi to the Rockies and north to Canada, as well as south to Oklahoma. Geraldine, Elise's cousin, ran the southern territory while Olivia ran the pacific southwest, and Marcus, the only Male Archon, ran the Pacific northwest out of Portland. There were several free zone areas, such as Maine, Louisiana, Nebraska, Ohio and Montana, but they were neutral zones for the odd occasional meeting and gathering. This meeting would be held in Ohio, at the Orpheus Ranch, the only neutral holding in the east. That a newly appointed Archon was asking for the East didn’t speak well for her position in the West.

"Land disputes? If there really is a new nest forming then that'll be exactly what it's about. Things could get pretty rough..."

"True, like I said, Olivia isn’t going to give up Vegas. Strange though, Carmen, Chrissy Reece and Remy were there’s not a year ago and they never mentioned any snakes in the vicinity, aside from Marco, Olivia's Defteros. He had met them at the hotel to convey Olivia's joy at the pairings, remember? When she actually visited Andy to offer up the females of her compound? Olivia might be a hard ass, but she dose know when things are working in Ophidian’s favor." A Defteros was a snake in the nest that was equivalent to a pack’s Beta, only with the Ophidians, it meant that you were second only to the Archon, their bodyguard, and more often then not, their mate. Elise, still unattached, considered all of her live in nest Defteros, as she didn’t have a choice. As an unmated Archon she didn’t have many options in it, unless she mated, and that was something she wouldn’t do.

"True... so you don’t think there is a nest? It could be a front. Maybe somebody’s trying something... getting you all in one place?"

"Possibly, but these are official seals, and they knew the information about the Orpheus. Only elders and Archon's know where it actually is."

"So maybe its one of the others..."

"It might be, but what is the use of a ruse?"

"I don't know..." She admitted with a sigh shaking her head.

"It doesn’t matter, it says it’s of grave importance, and we will uphold the laws and appear, as will all the Archon's. Then we will get to the bottom of this. I would ask that you go armed in your usual fashion."

"Of course Archon... When do you want to leave?"

"Within the hour. I’ll speak with Remy and Reece, leave them as Diarkos incase something actually is up. I would rather them here protecting the family. Pack, see to transportation to Ohio, I believe Dustin is still at the airfield."

Myra nodded. "I'll call him and ask him to meet us there."

"Wonderful Darlin." she said and stood. She walked over to Myra and smiled. The woman was beautiful, sexy and a brilliant painter, but she was still an enforcer of their nest and she would fulfill that obligation in spades, as she always did. "Myra, don’t worry, whatever it is, we can handle it. You know I’m not some flouncy Archon like Ramona, that skeleton in a Jackie O hairdo. We will be Ok."

"Oh I know that," She grinned, "I just wish our lives weren’t interrupted over something stupid like land dispute."

"Agreed. But look on the bright side, we could be going to the Montana compound." she shuddered.

"Thank god..." She rolled her eyes.

Elise smiled. "See? It could be worse. I’ll meet you downstairs in an hour." she turned and walked into her bedroom proper, the larger room just off her day office. She knew it was going to look odd, Myra being her Defteros, but she was the only unmarried Archon of the group, and where the others would have their mates by their side, Elise would not. It killed her, but there wasn’t anything she could do about it. The love of her life wasn’t among the living, and being cheated out of her happy ending made it a sure bet she would never find another like him. So Myra would stand beside her, the spinster Archon, and she would hold her head high. She sighed, and turned into the closet to pack her clothes.

UGH i seriously hate the damn Blogger spacing problems... but you get the idea.... What do you think?

AAD: Musings from a first time convention manager

Authors After Dark was my first foray into the administrative world of convention planning. Before this, I had planned and executed a bunch of major US tours for bands, and used to run a club in NY where bands would play on the weekend. Let me tell you setting up a weekend convention is SO different.

I guess it was my background that assured me I could do it, I mean I hadn't tried to set something like this up ever in my life, nothing this elaborate I mean. Setting up a tour for bands requires contact with the venue, the band, the venues administrative staff, and the bands record company. Nothing crazy like this. But I have to say it was a worthwhile experience.

See, I wanted to help develop something for readers and authors that was about them, not about making money. In these hard times, we shouldn't have to pay through the nose to enjoy a weekend with our favorite writers and get to know readers that could be life long friends. I'm happy to say I think I accomplished what I set out to do.

Needless to say that even though I was working the majority of the time, I had a bang up time. I started off my weekend on Thursday night with Becky and Crystal at the hotel, filling the welcome bags and generally getting stuff ready. I went to bed late, got up super early, and started off the day with setting up the event. I thank all the girls that were my makeshift staff, Without you guys, it could never have happened as smoothly as it did. So that you all especially Froggy, Kimmy, Crystal, Susan, and Connie.

I'm not going to bore you with what went into the weekend on my part, mostly because I really don't wanna relive it after the fact, but you should know that it was a lot of hard work to figure everything out.

The best part of the week and weekend was that Audra could be here to do this with me. True, she was 5 months pregnant, But her support helped me through. And we got to sign together again something we haven't done since RT 2007. It was awesome to see her interact with new and old readers, and just have a good time. With her mum and neice Jane there too, it was a true family affair.

Ooh and the suggestion forms at the end of the weekend were great! Everyone thought we did such a good job (Thank you) and it was mostly details that need to be ironed out. So lemme address then here:

1. Yes, next year we will have color coded badges.
2. Yes, staff next year will be designated and easy to find.

3. Yes, there will be time between panels so you ca get a drink or potty

4. Yes, we will have more authors involved next year.

5. Yes, there will be a full vendors rooms this coming year as well.

6. NO, there will NOT be any cover models or Fabio about.
You want that, go to RT or RomantiCon. Sorry guys but AAD is not about sweaty manflesh, its about connecting to your favorite authors!
7. NO, next years event will not be in Philadelphia. Since I'm the convention manager, I have to do the event where im close enough to it to transport the promo and goodies to the hotel, and I need to get there in a god amount of time, and not travel half a day to get there. Sorry guys this is not as big as RT and I dont make any kind of salary from it. So AAD will always be closer to where I can get to it easily, or the goodies will never get there, and it wont be as smooth.
8. Yes, next year's costume contest will be judged by a panel of judges.
9. Yes, we will have a GLBT track next year.

10. Yes, we will not have it in October, but in September, to better accommodate the authors that want to attend.

So thats my AAD blog. Enjoy and I hope to see you next year. What? You dont know about next year? Well Stay tuned to the AAD blog for all the up to the minute event information, and the list of authors that will be attending!

New cover!!!

So who wants to see Drake's new cover? LOL...

Isn't it sexy? I know, drakes not on it, but I cant very well use my muse for it and not get in trouble. LOL. Expect this book out late 2010.

REVIEWER TOP PICK!

We just got a reviewer top pick at NOR for of Crimson and Collars!

Stella and Audra Price work together to bring us a stunning story of domination, submission, demons, satyrs, water nymphs, trickery and lust. The characters pull you into the story and have you feeling as if you are standing there watching them from the room they are in. I would definitely read anything else they write as this was a most enjoyable read.

OOH thank you Zollyanna!

We are so excited! this is the first review we have gotten for this book AND its been AGES since we got one of the reviews there! Very excited though!

New release to announce!

So I thought I would show you guys our new release cover! After 2 years of trying to get this book published in the larger markets (and being turned down because of the subject, not the writing), we have decided to put the series out with Tease Publishing. Now lemme clarify. The reason we arent putting this series with TEB is because its not overly sexy. It is more urban fantasy style then Erotic Paranormal, but we still think you are going to love it.

So Entwined by Fate is the first in the Ophidian series. For those who dont know, Ophidians are the proper name for weresnakes, and this is the first in the Novel series. So here is the blurb:

Thirty females of the Ophidian race have gone missing, most from the transient nest of Las Vegas, a rogue and unofficial nest run by the Saint, John Merrick. Believed to be dead by every Archon in the states, Merrick leads a quiet and unassuming life, saving those of his race that are lost and need it most. It's a solitary existence, one that he hates every day. He yearns for his mate, the woman he left over a decade before, and the woman who thinks him dead to this day.

When Elise Rizdon gets the official invitation to the Archon meeting in Ohio by the leader of a new Midwestern nest, she never expected to see the love of her life at the woman's side, a man she was told was dead and buried. She lost him once upon a time, and she never fully recovered. Focusing on the issues, and not the man that has always made her body burn is not going to be easy. A disturbing event is on the horizon, one that threatens all Ophidian's and their way of life. In order to survive they will have to work together, give up old grudges and take chances on the things that matter most. Love, life and the continuation of their race.

Interested? Well you will have the chance to help us prove that scales are the new fur in January 2010. Ooh and the book will be available simultaneously in e book and print and will be at RT this year. I'm very proud of this book, I know Audra is too. We hope you will try out the book and help us bring this kinda shifter into the mainstream. Im thinking of doing a sprout for this as well.

Thoughts?

today is the day!

Audra is on a plane on her way over, and I'm getting ready to hot the AAD hotel to bring all the stuff over (Seriously not the most convenient of times but i have already accepted this). Audra will be touching down a little before noon, so this is my final blog of the week, I think. If your going to AAD, you will see us Friday, but I will try to update our bloggy before, and or our twitter.

Its craziness, seeing her again after a little more then a year, but I cant wait to hangout. We are a little restricted, what with her being 5 months preggers, but it should be fine. So wish us luck in NYC, and for those of you coming to AAD, we will see you then!

8 days!

Well I have been wild from this weekend. AlbaCon was fun, the people I met, the ladies I hungout with, the panels i was on and the fun book signings rocked. Everyone I met (Jan, Debi, Darlene, Kaity, Debra,) and the ones I know (Jess Andersen, Jackie Kessler, Susan Crowley and Toni Andrews) was great and I had a ball. Oh and my pictures all came out like crap. Poo. But on the upswing, I figured out the flash on my camera, two years late I know, but it works now. Teach me to read the goddamn manual. LOL.

Audra is going to be here in 8 days. Im already a bundle of nerves and have NOTHING ready for her to be here. Yes, Stella is not organized and ready for something- this is it people! Armageddon! Honestly though I got almost everything ready, so its not too bad. I will be cleaning most of this week and weekend, and I'll be picking her smarmy pregnant ass up on next Tuesday morning just before noon. Yes, life is good.

AAD is so close as well, I'm really excited that its finally going to happen. I got my awesome costume, and I cant wait to take pictures of me in it because its ultra lush. I love Brandi and bow to her costuming skills! Just wait till you guys see her Etsy store. OMG your all going to want your own Brandi creations.

Well must get back to the grind of working. I'll be updating again before the end of the week!

Info on aad... and other issues.

Lots going on this month. Serious lots. Craziness. Aud and I are writing up a storm, we have had some choices to make by way of a few MS's and some inside information. Its going to be good.

So Lemme get this outta the way now, and If you dont like my opinion then dont read my posts:

I could give a FLYING FUCK about the Polanski bullshit. It happened ages ago and its just rehashing the past. What bothers me is that son of a bitch Michael Vick is back playing footbal with not so much as a fucking slap on the wrist! Yes, I care more for the animals that cant defend themselves against asshole humans who feel the need to make them mean and fight each other. Michael Vick should have been shot in the head, as an example for people who hurt animals. Extreme? To me, not in the least. Had I been on that jury I would have played the 12 angry men game to push for the death penalty and thats no guff. Now that that muther as back playing ball, its like his sins didnt happen, and thats not cool. All his money for the next 10 years should go to animal rescue and rehabilitation centers, and that's me thinking hes getting off lightly. The SOB didnt even have to serve time in a place where he could see the effects of his negligence. So I think we need to be concerned with a system that lets both types of predators go without much of an issue, we need to rethink shit. But Michael Vick should pay for the rest of his life for causing fear and harm. It sucks we don't have the same laws for animal offenders that we have for human offenders.

So that said, you don't agree, that's your choice. This is something close to my heart and I think the Son of a bitch should pay till the day he dies.

Now that my issues have been aired, Lemme tell you guys that if your coming to AAD, Your going to have SO MUCH to go home with! Just you wait. My bedroom in my condo looks like Im a freaking storage facility, but OMG have I got the sneak peeks on all the awesomeness. With the amount of mini events, goodies and free books we will be giving out you will be so excited.

Ooh and guess what? the Pantheon Authors are doing a cool alcohol fueled mini event called An Evening with Ambrosia. Readers will have the chance to sample the drink of the gods, and get a bunch of goodies that are from the gods, meet the authors and get the books. Cool right? We thought so.

So Im back to writing, I have to finish at least 2k today. Lates.

I get to interview the hottest vamp servant EVA!

For those of you who don’t know, Devlin is the super yummy servant to Lady Daniela in Joey W. Hill’s third book in the Vampire Queen’s series, A Vampire’s Claim. He’s an extra delicious Aussie bushman that not only stole Lady Danny’s heart, but kicks major ass. And I get to talk to him. Woo, aren’t you jealous? Well don’t be, I get to interview his hotness, and you get to read about it. So? We ready to get into it? I thought so.

Thanks so much for agreeing to do this Dev. I hope I can call you Dev. So tell me, how’s things going in Oz?

Can’t imagine what else you’d call me, love. We Aussies don’t stand for much formality. Even call our PM—that’s prime minister—by his first name. Takes a bit to earn titles from us, though we’re pretty accepting of a bloke or sheila as they are. Sorry, I meant a lady. Danny tells me I still use outdated expressions. That’s what happens when you’ve been around almost a century but your brain hangs about the 1950s.Things are grand here in Oz. It’s spring and we’ve been busy with lambing time on the station. We barely got the expectant mommas shaved before they started dropping the little ones. There’s plenty to do once they arrive, though fortunately most of the ewes handle the birthing themselves. My lady has been a bit out of sorts – it’s her favorite thing, seeing the new babes arrive, but she’s been up to her pretty arse in vampire business. She’s done so well as Region Master, it’s become a curse. Council hardly stirs itself to see what’s happening in Oz, but they just transferred another Region Master to Europe. Since they don’t consider Australia all that significant, they put his Region under her authority as well, rather than appoint a new piker.

I was able to make her smile today, though, because one of the mothers rejected her baby and we’re bottle feeding. I parked his little fuzzy arse on the back porch so Danny could rock him to sleep and feed and play with him between sending emails and cursing under her breath. She’s got quite a mouth on her when she gets worked up.

So you and Lady Daniela have been together for a pretty long time. I’m sure you have relaxed into a pretty decent home life when not entertaining other vamps. What is it you like to do when you guys are alone?

Yeah, I’m glad when it’s just us. She never really wanted to run anything other than the station, but I guess that’s who you want running a Region – people who don’t really want that kind of power, so they don’t tend to get carried away with it. Anyhow, it makes us appreciate those times alone even more when we get them. May not sound all that exciting, but she likes to lie in the hammock with me on the side porch, where the wind comes in the best, and have me read to her at night. I went to Oxford before I became a soldier and a bushie, so she gets amused to hear me read her Milton or Shakespeare. But even as she picks at me about it, she closes her eyes and her face eases, so I know the sound of my voice helps her relax.

Other nights we take one of the utes and camp out for part of the night. Go swim in a billabong with the crocs and she takes her pleasure of me under the sky. I like looking up at her when she’s riding me, seeing all that blonde hair, the white arch of her body like the crescent of the moon. Ahem. Sorry about that, love. Vampires and servants...well, we tend to do a lot of that kind of thing. It’s part of the job description, that I’m, you know, available, whenever she wants me. Some nights it’s a much as three times. But strewth, once you’re a thirdmark servant, you want your Mistress just as much and will do bloody anything to have her.

You have been around a bit, and I’m sure have sampled some fine beers around the world, what is your favorite one?

I’m happy with about any cold lager, but I do like a Fourex. None of that Victoria Bitter. Danny says I’m overly provincial, but I know the taste of a lager made in Queensland versus anywhere else in the world. And I’ll for sure take it over that Victorian swill any day.

Now, we first met you in the second book in the series, the Mark of the Vampire Queen, and I have to say I fell in love with you then. So easy going, and such a help to Jacob. Aside from the scuzzlebutt that happened at the event, did you have a good time?

Well, I’m quite flattered, love, though I don’t know what I did to earn that from a fine looking sheila like yourself. However, you need to know I’m pretty taken. It’s like this, no other way to say it. A servant’s a vampire’s property, and she takes a dim view of anyone trying to stake a claim. She’s been known to make her point a little...violently toward female vampires who’ve gotten pushy about things. She’s a deadly hand with a blade. But since you’re human, you don’t need to worry. Truth, she’d most likely find your interest intriguing, and figure out how to use it to torment me. So consider yourself warned.

That’s all games, though. I enjoy a pretty face and arse as much as the next man – and you’re fine on both counts, love – but there’s no one for me but her. I know how things stand between us, and it doesn’t matter that vampires aren’t supposed to get too attached to their servants. We don’t have to say a thing for it to be real. I was raised by Aborigines, and one of the things we learn early is words don’t mean all that much. The really important things are there in the silence. As far as the Vampire Gathering, oh yeah , that was a ripper of a time. Jacob’s a good bastard, even for a Mick. I’d trust him at my back, and that means something. His Lady Lyssa can be a scary handful, though. I’m right glad for my Danny instead. But there are good things about the Vampire Gatherings. Because vampires are into all sorts of carnal activities when they get together, it’s pretty much naked females everywhere, and lots of food and drink for the servants, and that’s not too bad. Course, there’s a lot of naked blokes as well. Whenever vampires get together in a big away like that, there are a lot of politics and power games. They’ll use their servants as pawns in activities that can make even the most degenerate sinner blush. But I guess I’m past being bothered by all that, now. Danny says it’s a way to channel their violent natures. If that’s the case, I guess it’s better for vampires to be fucking each other, or watching us do it, than trying to cop each other over the appetizers.

I know after reading your book that you aren’t a huge fan of the whole “vampire games” at any of their functions, yet you do it because of your love for Danny. Does any of what you have to do get between you two?

Danny says an alpha male who will serve a woman, let her own him in all the ways that count, is nigh irresistible. Don’t know about that. Just know I’ll do things for her I wouldn’t for anyone else. Part of it’s the way things are. On a battlefield, you know you have to follow the captain. It’s the same with your Mistress among vampires. I can endanger her life by defying her and making them think she doesn’t hold total control, that her feelings for me make her soft. So when we’re with other vampires, there are a lot of things I’ve learned to do that I never thought possible.

There’re times that pain is involved, pain with the pleasure. Flogging, or cutting, or candles...there’s just no end to the things they’ll do. It’s for power, but it’s also for pleasure, and strewth, when I feel her eyes on me like the heat of her cunt, closing over me, I’m just doing it all for her, the rest doesn’t matter. I’ve even learned to like some of it.

But when it’s just the two of us and she gets kind of high handed, then I might push back a little. I don’t care if a sheila can pick up a car or break a tree in half with her strength, she needs to respect a man, if she wants the same. And to be frank, I think she kind of likes getting in a blue with me over it. It works her up in some fine ways, and I can’t say it doesn’t do the same to me.

She does like to test me in ways to push the envelope. Like this interview. She commanded me to answer your questions honestly, no matter what you ask, because she can read my mind as I answer, and knew some of it would arouse me to think about. She likes getting me distracted that way, particularly using another female to do it. Remember the tormenting part?

So what’s a normal day like for you?

Depends on where we are. If we’re visiting another vampire, or entertaining some in our home, then I’m center stage. That’s because she’s Region Master, and she has to show that she’s holding the reins. As part of the dinner entertainment, she might have me take a female vampire’s servant in his arse. Or command some male vampire’s servant to go on her knees and work me in her mouth. Sometimes it involves more than two, and it becomes a very adult game of Twister.

It’s different, though, after. When our Masters and Mistresses go to bed, those of us who don’t go with them hang out. I’ve made some good friendships with the servants I see regularly. There’s a lot of vampire business that goes on in daylight hours that requires regular communication between servants as well. We’re kind of like a specialized trade group. Hell, I’ve had lagers with the whole lot in the morning, played some informal footy with them in the front yard. The female servants will chat and gossip, tell me girlish things about clothes and such my lady might like to know about, things that she’d never go about asking them herself. Sometimes the servants laugh about the things they make us do, but it’s a raw and deep kind of thing at once, because of the way we feel about them, how we serve them. It bonds all of us in a way.

When my lady and I aren’t doing that kind of vampire business, then it’s the business of running a sheep station. Which could mean checking on the flocks if they’re out grazing, handling sick ones, or shearing, or lambing, or a hundred other things. Then there’s the maintenance and stocking around the place. I’m the station manager, so I oversee about ten employees. A lot of that happens during the day, so I tend to work through the morning after I leave her bed, then catch my sleep in the afternoon when I can. At night I’m with her, going over accounts and the like, though it’s a pleasure when we can finally relax together and spend some time doing the things I talked about earlier.

Aside from Australia, what other places on earth do you like?

Danny has a friend, Lord Mason, who lives on the coast in South America. It’s a bonza place, secluded and beautiful. One of the Council Gatherings was held there – well, until Jacob’s brother, who’s a vampire hunter, blew part of it up. Lord Mason hasn’t been too excited about having another Gathering there since. But he still likes Danny and me to come, as well as Jacob and Lady Lyssa. Lord Mason’s a private sort, and he doesn’t hold with a lot of the vampire games, because his servant, Jessica, is a shy, quiet sort. She had it pretty rough before she came to him, and he’s protective. It’s a more relaxing time.

We’ve been to America as well, and went to Las Vegas. I liked the Grand Canyon a lot, hiked down to the bottom and saw the river, as well as the rock strata. Oz doesn’t have as much variety in her terrain as the States, so it’s something to see all those hills and mountains as you’re crossing the country. But Australia is still my favorite place, particularly the bush. There’s just room to breathe there, let the things that prick you from your past run free and not plague you as much.

What is your favorite food?

Lady Danny says I’m happiest living on what I catch, but I don’t understand all these things like sushi and such. I’m a dedicated carnivore, and no shame in it. Anything I can hunt and catch myself. I like catching fresh muddies out of the river. Those are crabs with large armored pincers – always a treat for the kids to watch you bring those in. Of course, a big hunk of moo’s a treat when we’re in town. We’ll take a table at the beer garden in Brekkie Creekin – that’s in Brisbane – and get a T-bone with chips and a coldie. That’ll work for me. My lady likes to tease me, feed me bits of it from her fingers. I think she likes me licking that bloody juice off her fingers. She’s a bit twisted at times, but I don’t mind it.

Aside from whittling, do you have any hobbies?

Not a lot of time for it, love. I do like reading. One of the nice things about becoming a thirdmark – nearing forty, I was just starting to squint when I read, but becoming a thirdmark changed all that. I have eyes like a hawk now – far away and up close. When I’m not reading, I like taking a day trip in the bush, if I can take time to do it. I might spend the day exploring, because you never see all of it. I’ll catch what I need to eat, wet the billy and take a cuppa under the stars like I used to. Though I admit, I like it best when my lady can go with me, though of course we have to have a good place for her to stay undercover during the daylight part.

I would ask the Boxers or Briefs question but I don’t wanna get into that *Heh, ok maybe I do who wouldn’t? LOL* so I will ask, what do you rather Lady Daniela in, Thong or boy shorts?

Er, I seem to remember that you call really scanty knickers with no backs to them “thongs”? Here in Oz, thongs are sandals. Boy shorts? Well, I think whatever shows me the most of my lady’s arse would win my vote, so that would be a thong. And the sooner she could get that off, the better. As far as you, love, I’m sure you’d look fine in either one, but I expect your man would prefer the less as well. We’re all pretty much the same on that, I think .

What is the single most romantic thing you have ever done?

I’m pretty basic, all in all. I do bring her things I find when I’m out exploring – rocks, flower buds, fossils. She gets tickled when I whittle creatures for her, or little replicas of houses or furniture. She puts them up on her fancy mantle. She does seem to like it when we go to the picnic races (those are social events at the different stations, since there’s not a lot of us out in Western Oz, even now) and we dance together.

In truth, though I’m a bit embarrassed to admit it, the most romantic thing I’ve ever done is something she did for me. It’s a little hard for me to talk about, so I’ll just say it straight out. I had a family, before her, but they died. She took me to my wife and child’s graves not too long ago. Brought wildflowers to put on them and told my wife she’d take care of me. Told my boy that she’d do her best to keep me out of trouble, but she was sure he knew how tough that could be. It meant a lot to me, and while that may not be what romance means to a lot of folks, it worked for me. Those are the kinds of things my lady does. She’s dark and light, but I don’t know any of us that can do without day and night in our lives. Or any of us that don’t carry both inside of us as well.

You have had the distinct pleasure of being around for a lot of advancements in technology. What do you think is the best?

For all that I don’t care much for television, I will say it’s nice to watch footy games on it. And power tools – strewth, they make maintenance on a station way easier. But the best by far are the improvements in weapons. Give an attacking vampire a good thump in the teeth and it won’t even slow him down, but get in a shot with a high powered rifle or a semi-automatic nine millimeter, you can fill him full of holes, give your vampire a sporting chance of taking him down. Vampires don’t expect servants to have a Buckley’s chance of fighting them off, so that gives my Mistress an edge. And since vampires haven’t gotten any more peaceable in nature in the near century I’ve known about them, I’ll come to the party as prepared as I can to protect and help her.

Are you a video game player, and if you do, what is your favorite?

The noisemakes me feel like I’m back in the war. Can’t even handle walking into one of those arcades when we’re in the city. I’ll stick to cards and chess. Danny’s tried to show me how to play chess on the computer, but that’s her thing. I like to touch things, feel them under my fingers to get a sense of them.

What is your favorite book in the past fifty years?

Well, I thought she had kangaroos loose in her top paddock for doing it, but Danny ordered me the full set of Harry Potter stories and I loved them. Even carved little figures of owls and dragons and such for the kids of our stockhands. When I read the books aloud to them, Danny sat in and listened, a smile on her face that made her blue eyes sparkle.

What is your ultimate sexual fantasy?

From Harry Potter and kids to that? You know how to knock a fella offstride, love. Well, I don’t know if you can say any man has an ultimate sexual fantasy. Give him the sheila he loves—naked—and time and a place to do her right, maybe some cold beer available, and I can’t really think of anything better.

However, I will say, for all the things she’s done to me, with or without the presence of other vampires, it’s given me some wicked ideas of my own. I was oiling a saddle in the barn the other day, and I got to thinking about that saddle, sitting square on sawhorse. I thought about bringing her out to the barn, her arms tied behind her with my stock whip, her purely naked, all that blond hair loose and her eyes flashing, soft wet mouth sassing me. I’d put her over the saddle and give her a nice arse strapping with my belt before buggering her arse good, using my fingers and hand on her cunt until she came hard and screaming.

That’s a fantasy for sure, for she’s too bloody strong for me to take her down like that, but there are other ways...let’s just say I haven’t given up on the idea. And Danny does like to say I’m the most resourceful male she’s ever met.

What is the one thing people automatically assume when they meet you?

Vampires think a servant is obedient and docile, completely submissive to their vampire. I do my best to appear that way, much as it sticks in my craw, but Danny says the smarter ones can tell I’ve got too much of a dominant streak to me. It apparently makes me irresistible as candy to them . Lucky me.

Humans...well, humans assume I’m a station manager, a bloke working with sheep and carrying on with the lady of the house. Maybe I’m old fashioned, but it doesn’t always set well with me, people thinking that. I’ve thought once or twice what it would be like to marry her. Vampires and humans don’t do that – hell, most vampires never marry each other. I did whittle her a ring a while back, one with a pretty flower design in it. She likes to wear it on her ring finger when she’s about the house, so I wonder if she thinks about it too.

What is the best gift Lady Daniela ever gave you?

Don’t let her know I said it (course, she can read it from my mind, the bloody eavesdropper), but it was the third mark. I wasn’t that keen on how she did it, mind you, when it happened, but I guess it helped me realize I’d disconnected myself from everyone when I met her. Getting that third mark, being connected so intimately to her soul all of a sudden...well, it felt like I belonged to someone again, with someone. Someone who really needed me. Gave me a purpose and gave me back a sense of peace, something I hadn’t thought I’d ever have again after I lost my family.

What’s on the horizon for you and Lady Daniela?

Well, with her doubling the number of vampires she oversees, I expect we’ll be doing some traveling and leaving the station in the hands of Reid, the assistant station manager. So it should be an exciting year as she makes sure everyone agrees she should run things. Guess I better make sure all those advanced technology weapons are primed before we head off. I hope we’ll have time for a short stop at Surfer’s Paradise. It’s one of our favorite places to go, just the two of us, and there are some good memories there. Plus, she’s friends with the Queensland Region Master, the only other RM in Oz now, and he has a new baby. She’ll want to stop in and pay her respects and diddle him on her knee (the baby, not Lord Alistair--I hope).

If we don’t end up being staked or, worse, having my cock fall off from overuse at all the vampire social events , we should be back in time for the fall and to get things ready for winter. While we’re in the towns, I think she wants me to pick up some of those erotic romances you women like these days and have me read those aloud to her...though I doubt I’ll get beyond a few pages before she decides to write her own, so to speak.

It’s been a pleasure talking to you, love. It’s about dusk, when my lady will rise, and she likes me around for her morning coffee. Feel free to enjoy the place and go visit the new lambs in the barn. If you aren’t an early-to-bed person, maybe my lady and I will take you out swimming tonight . I’ll just warn you – we don’t wear thongs or boy shorts – nothing but our skins...

Yes Ladies. I'm panting here. WOOO EEEEEEE. So who has some questions for his Aussie hotness? I admit, i tried to be very mature about my questions, and not embarrass him, but who says you have to? Comment, and Dev will be checking in through the day, while waiting on his lady to wake, and I have it under great authority that she wants him to answer questions... LOL. So get them out, hes waiting for them!

Secret project = good.

So much to do. Audra and I are hip deep in our new secret project and its going really well. the story is just falling together and the characters are a lot of fun. After this first draft its going to take another pass, maybe two, to make it fantastic, but we have our target for it, and all is well.

Why do we now have a target? Because not every publisher wants the same amount of sex, by way of frequency, depth of scene or language. Some pubs would rather a more surface style sex scene, while some of them want scenes where its as graphic as possible. Depending on the book we write, and the sex involved, depends on what publisher we target. For this book, theres a lot of sex, and in frequency, and its also a different kinda subject that I dont think anyone has done before. Both Audra and I are excited about this, and the last book that has written itself like this was the Inferi Dii novel and the first in the Keepers of Twilight series. Both books we love, but this is a bit different because the main characters in this series are a group of women. Yes, its new to us, but we are doing well with it, and I cant wait to send the first part to our CP.

Aside from that, we have the first Satyr book coming out on Monday, and are very nervous about it. We love the book, and I cant wait for our awesome readers (you) to read about our hottie hybrid Esben Chambers. OOh and dont forget the awesome contest we have going on for the release!

AAD is one month away, well about 29 days away, and Audra will be here on October 20th. I think Im more excited to see Audra then for AAD, though dont tell anyone, LOL. Its been far too long since I have seen my sister, so this is going to be a real treat for the both of us. The week that shes here I dont expect any writing to happen, but I do expect to be talking about the new books and the books for the other series that have to be outlined. That Im looking forward to. And taking lots of pictures for the baby book. LOL, the Ninja will have been to the states before its born. So cool.

As for AAD, its going to be awesome. Readers will FINALLY get to meet Audra, and she will finally get to meet the readers. Shes excited for that, and to sign the new book we have out, Masquerade, at the event, as Oscar is her favorite character that we write. We both really love that book. And the goodies we will be giving out at our mini event are awesome, and it will be great to hangout with people that like our world as much as we do.

So I'm off to finish this scene, and get back to outlining the rest of the secret project. Have a great weekend everyone, and dont forget about the release on monday!

Secret Project...

ROCKS.

Yes, I know We had one before and its out at pubs right now so keep your fingers crossed. For this one though, we went in a totally new direction and I love this. My project notebook is quickly filling up.

We are almost finished with Satyr book 2, which we have renamed To Collar and Keep is about 29k finished. We need to add a bit in though, and it looks like it will end up around 35-40k, so we are happy with that. With Of Crimson and Collars coming out next month, we are trying hard to finish this and get it to our editor.

So this weekend starts my crazy fall season. Im driving to Ohio for CONTEXT this weekend, If your in the area, come to the event and see me on saturday from 12-2pm on Saturday. I will be signing, and you will have a chance to get Masquerade. Next weekend is Farmington CT with the ever fun Jessica Andersen and Kathryn Smith and friends, If your close to there, come and hangout, we will have baked goods and candy!

After that its, Cheesefest in Monroe NY on the 12th, RenFaire on the 19th and then I finally have a weekend off. October brings the Collingswood Book Fest on the 3rd, and AlbaCon on the 9-11th. Then I have a weekend to get ready for Audra coming on the 20th. But that week is going to be insane with getting everything for AAD together and done before Aud gets here so I can spend time with her in NYC. Once the AAD weekend is over I can breathe easy, but I think I over scheduled myself.

Ooh and we have two shorts we are almost finished with. Not sure when you will see them, or where, but we know you will love them. Short dirty little stories...

Ok well I gotta get ready for tonites concert, the last show in NYC for the NIN goodbye tour. *sniff* But Im going to enjoy it and its going to kick ass.

Writing, writing, writing... I love days like today.

So we have another idea, a secret project we are developing. Audra and I are so excited. I'm hoping this is the one that we say BING, its the one. the idea is so simple, and whats more, no one is doing this yet in romance. I'm ever hopeful.

And we are working on another of the stories for the snakes. Yes, this one will probably end up being a novella, something that will happen between some other stories in the novel series. I'm very excited about it, and I LOVE LOVE LOVE the hero.

We are also hard at work at finishing Satyrs two, Harlequin and Arabella's story, what we have named Of Beauty and Bonds. I really like how this one is coming out, and I hope the readers take to this story as well as we have. the Satyrs are a naughty bunch of guys, but Oh so sexy.

And we are writing a short for another character you guys would have just met if you have read A gift of Daybreak. We arent sure where its going to be used, in the next Eververse book or if its getting its own publication, but OMG is he a naughty naughty guy.

So it is back to writing. With Of Crimson and Collars on the horizon, Im getting my ducks in a row to present a very cool contest for the release. Keep your head up, this is one you are going to WANT to win!

Interviews from the Edge: Levet the gargoyle

Hello everyone! I’m here today with my favorite gargoyle eva, Levet. He has been gracious enough to come and talk with us today and give us all more of a peek into what makes him, him.

Embrace the Darkness. This book also features the ever sexy vamp Viper, and Levet’s besty, Shay, a Shallot demon. Since Embrace, Levet has had cameo’s through the rest of the books, and has made reading them more of an enjoyment. I always wait for a Levet scene. I’m ever so excited I get to chat with him now.

SP: Hi Levet! Glad you were up for this. Can you tell everyone a little about yourself?

Bonjour!! I am happy, of course, to speak about myself. I am, after all, a most fascinating subject who has led a life of adventure and extraordinary bravery. To be honest, I am shocked that I have not yet had my beautiful face gracing the cover of Time. Or at least the centerfold of Playgirl. Ah well. In time my true glory will be shared with the world.
So…about me. I am a powerful gargoyle, although I was rudely and quite unjustly forced from the Gargoyle guild since I am vertically challenged. As if being three foot tall is not enough. The world could not bear my splendor if I were any larger. Unfortunately I have been forced to fend for myself, until I met Shay, who has made me a part of her family. I prefer to ignore the unpleasant fact she is mated to a vampire. No one’s perfect, well…except for me.

SP: How old are you?

The cathedral of Notre Dame was still just a dream when I blessed the world with my birth.

SP: How does it feel to the unsung hero of the Guardians of Eternity series?

So typical that the cold-hearted leeches would pig (wait, Shay insists I must use the word hog) hog all the glory. Still, it is something of a tradition for the truly great heroes to work incognito. Just look at Batman. Or of course, Superman. Although I am far more handsome than either.

SP: So how’s the magic coming along? Several times you have used your powers and they have had varied effects, is it getting more stable?

*Clears throat* It might be a teensy weensy bit unpredictable, but of course, it is wondrous to behold. And do not listen to anything Jagr might have to say concerning my magic. The cold-blooded bastard is simply jealous.

SP: How are things at home with Shay and Viper? Any good stories?

Ah, Shay is always a delight. So sweet and charming. Which makes her devotion to Viper all the more puzzling. Of course, he can be fun upon occasion. Just the other day he taught us all how to curse like an ancient Viking when he discovered I had a small mishap with his Bugatti.

SP: So I always wanted to know, when you go all stony during the day, what’s it like? Is it sleep? Or is your mind away and traveling?

I actually have no memory of being a statue. Sweet oblivion.

SP: So here’s some questions just all about you.

SP: Your favorite food?
Ox. Still on the hoof.

SP: Your favorite movie?
la cage aux folles.

SP: Who do you like better, Viper or Cezar?

Ew. That is like asking if I prefer turnips or brussel sprouts. In my opinion, the only good vamp is one who has the good taste to remain in his crypt where he belongs.

SP: What are your hobbies?

Being a Knight in Shining Armor leaves me little time for hobbies, but I do plan to take over Howie Mandel as host of Deal or No Deal when I am done rescuing damsels in distress. That seems like a sweet gig with all those beautiful women.

SP: Summer or Winter?

Summer. Winter is so hard on my skin.

SP: Clear skies or rain?

Rain.

SP: We know you are a terrible flirt, which makes you that much more loveable, but what do you consider romantic?

A cozy room with a warm fire, a bottle of wine (French, of course) and a lovely water sprite who knows how to stroke a gargoyles wings.

SP: So do you make an appearance in Darkness Unleashed? Is it a small part or did Alex relent and give you a bigger part?

My role is far larger, and I am essential in the rescue of Regan, but as usual I must play second fiddle to a vampire. I will say that I at last…ah no, I must say no more. My lips are sealed.

SP: Tell us a secret, something telling about you as a gargoyle.

There are few people who know that gargoyles have been worshiped by many for our ability to bestow fertility. Yet another reason for women to adore me.

SP: Now I think it’s a great affront that Alex doesn’t have you as a character on her website. Why do you think that is?

She is so terribly bourgeoisie, always fussing over those vampires and werewolves. So what if they are all tall, and gorgeous, and oozing sensuality? It takes a woman of exquisite taste to appreciate a gargoyle.

SP: Now I know other gargoyles aren’t as cool as you, so tell us a little about your heritage and what means the most to you, being a gargoyle.

Ah, most people assume because of our frightening exterior that we must be stupid, unfeeling beasts. It couldn’t be further from the truth. Certainly there are some gargoyles who are brutish and incapable of finer feelings, but many are quite artistic and sophisticated. Indeed, it well known among the demon world that it was a gargoyle who actually painted the Sistine chapel.

SP: Anything else you want to add?

It is rumored that Levet will not be making an appearance in the anthology that Ms. Ivy is currently writing. This travesty must not be allowed. For those of you who wish to save the silly woman from utter disaster, you can send an email to alexandraivy @ yahoo dot com and tell her that you demand your favorite gargoyle.
